One Gospel, One Mission

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19

The Gospel changes everything.

It changes hearts, families, and communities. And when the Gospel truly takes root in the life of a believer, it changes the way we see the people around us. We begin to understand that the good news of Jesus was never meant to stop with us.

That truth was on display this summer as Lifeword and BMA Global joined ministry partners from across Central and South America in El Salvador for the Lifeword En Español Collaborators Conference.

Representatives from El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, and Peru came together for three days around a simple theme: “Discipleship: Be One, Make One.” They came from different countries, cultures, churches, and ministries, but they were united by the same Gospel and the same calling—to make disciples.

That shared calling is also at the heart of the partnership between Lifeword and BMA Global. While the ministries may carry out the Great Commission in different ways, they are working toward the same goal: equipping believers and churches to take the hope of Jesus to their communities and beyond.

Throughout the conference, biblical teaching continually pointed participants back to the heart of discipleship. Jesus did not simply call His followers to make converts. He called them to make disciples—to walk alongside others, teach them His Word, help them grow in their faith, and prepare them to do the same for someone else.

It is a pattern repeated throughout the New Testament: the Gospel reaches one life, transforms it, and then moves through that life to reach another.

Across Latin America, we saw that pattern happening in countless ways. God is using local churches, missionaries, radio broadcasts, digital media, translated resources, and personal relationships to take the Gospel to people who might otherwise never hear.

A radio broadcast can carry the message of Jesus into a home a missionary may never enter. A video shared online can reach someone searching for answers. A local pastor can walk alongside a new believer as he learns to follow Christ. A missionary can equip a church to reach its own community.

No single ministry can accomplish the Great Commission alone. That is why partnership matters.

Lifeword can use media to cross borders and reach into places where physical access may be difficult. BMA Global can mobilize missionaries and churches to build relationships, serve communities, and make disciples. Local believers can then carry the Gospel into places and relationships outsiders could never reach.

Different methods. Different roles. One Gospel. One mission.

Perhaps one of the clearest pictures of that unity came during worship led by Garifuna believers from Honduras. Throughout the room were people from different nations and cultures. Some spoke different languages. Their ministries and communities looked different.

But they shared one Savior.

The Gospel had made them family.

That is one of the beautiful realities of the Great Commission. God’s mission is bigger than any one missionary, church, organization, or country. Every believer transformed by Christ has a place in it.

Some go. Some give. Some preach. Some produce media. Some translate. Some disciple a new believer sitting across a kitchen table.

But all carry the same message into a world that desperately needs to hear it.

As we left El Salvador, we were reminded that partnership is not simply about organizations working together. It is about the body of Christ working together—each using the gifts, opportunities, and resources God has given them to accomplish a mission much bigger than themselves.

Be a disciple. Make a disciple.

One person hears. One life changes. One disciple begins making another.

And together, we keep taking the Gospel farther.

Because the Gospel changes everything.
