From Nepal to North Texas

In late 2025, our family transitioned from serving in Nepal to working stateside with the BMA of  Texas as missionaries and church planters among the Nepalese community in the DFW area. It was quite difficult to say goodbye to our friends, our ministry, and the country we had grown to love. However, the need for people to work and serve among the Nepalese in DFW is extremely clear to see. There are over 40,000 people in the area who once called Nepal home. Some still feel like foreigners. Others still don’t know the English language. Almost all of them, unfortunately, do not  know Jesus. 

For most Nepalese people, it was the American Dream that motivated them to cross the ocean  and leave their homes and their lives. They arrived thinking a good education, a successful career,  and a large house would solve all of their problems. What they find, instead, is hardship, lack of  opportunity, and loneliness. It does not take long for most individuals to realize that their real  problems cannot be solved by a change of location or circumstances. 

In the DFW area, we have an opportunity to connect with these individuals in a way that few  others can. We know their language, their culture, and their worldview. We have eaten their food,  visited their villages, travelled their roads, and slept in their homes. Because of this, we believe we  have a unique ability to reach them here. 

As BMA of Texas missionaries, we are striving not only to share the Good News, but make disciples.  Our ultimate goal is to see a church planted among the Nepalese diaspora, specifically in the  Bedford/Euless region. While there are a couple of Nepalese churches in DFW, none of them appear to be very sound or super healthy. We want to create a healthy community of Nepali believers who have a good understanding of God and His Word. Our hope is that they will take what they learn and use it to reach others here, as well as back in Nepal.
