At BMA Global, one of our foundational values is this: Local churches are both the source and goal of missions.

From Genesis to Revelation, God’s redemptive plan has always included His people being sent to declare His glory and expand His Kingdom. In the New Testament, we see this calling realized through the Church—God’s chosen instrument to carry out His mission to the world.

Generosity Marked the Early Church

In Acts and throughout Paul’s letters, we discover that the goal of missions is not merely conversion but the planting of healthy, gospel-centered churches rooted in truth, led by equipped leaders, and built to multiply.

This remains our mission today: make disciples, train leaders, and plant churches.

Local churches are both the goal (where the gospel takes root and grows) and the source (providing the people, resources, and support that drive mission forward).

We see this in the early church, where generosity flowed from unity of purpose:

“They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as any had need.”
— Acts 2:45

“There was not a needy person among them… they laid the proceeds at the apostles’ feet.”
— Acts 4:34–35

Paul experienced this firsthand in the church at Philippi:

“Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the profit that is increasing to your account… a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.”
— Philippians 4:17–18

This sacrificial giving was more than responding to a crisis or meeting a need. It was a voluntary, spiritual expression of partnership in the gospel.

Paul reminded the Philippians that their generosity not only supported ministry—it honored God and produced spiritual fruit.

The local church is the source for global missions.
