The World Still Needs Jesus

Begin preparing for World Missions Day on February 28, 2027.

The world has changed. The need for Jesus has not.

Across languages, cultures, and generations, people still need to hear the gospel. They need to know who Jesus is, what He has done, and the hope found in following Him. And God continues to call His church to take that message into the world.

That conviction is at the heart of BMA Global’s World Missions Day 2027 theme: The World Still Needs Jesus.

On February 28, 2027, churches will come together to pray, give, and renew their commitment to the Great Commission. As World Missions Day packets begin arriving in church mailboxes, we invite your congregation to start considering how you will participate.

Help Send the Missionaries You May Never Meet

This year, World Missions Day will introduce churches to ChangeMakers, national church planters equipped to take the gospel to their own communities and beyond.

They know the language. They know the culture. They know the people. And they know Jesus.

BMA Global’s more than 450 ChangeMakers are helping make Him known by making disciples, developing leaders, and planting churches. Your church may never meet many of these missionaries in person, but you can help send and support them.

Consider leaders such as Lewi Mursale, who oversees training for new leaders in East Africa, or Rama Bochung, who pastors a congregation while equipping pastors serving in more than 20 villages in Myanmar. In Panama, Gerson Orellana is planting a church and training leaders. In Germany, Morteza A. shares the gospel with Afghan and other immigrant communities, including people who have had little or no exposure to Jesus.

These leaders serve in different settings, but their work shares a purpose: making disciples who make disciples and planting churches that plant churches.

Begin the Conversation in Your Church

World Missions Day is an opportunity to help your congregation see its place in that work. Through prayer, generous giving, and partnership, your church can participate in ministry far beyond its own community.

As you review your packet, gather your pastor and missions leaders to begin planning. Mark February 28 on your church calendar, consider an offering goal, and look for ways to introduce your congregation to the people and stories behind the ministry.

In the months leading up to World Missions Day, help your church learn about ChangeMakers and pray for the communities they serve. Share their stories in worship services, small groups, and conversations about missions. Invite people to consider how their giving can support the ongoing work of making Jesus known.

The world still needs Jesus. Your church has a part to play in helping people hear His name and know His love.

You may never meet them. But you can help send them.
