Staying Safe While Serving

Did you know that BMA Global has a dedicated Crisis Team ready to support our missionaries and churches as you serve on the mission field? In today’s unpredictable world, safety is not just a recommendation, it’s a necessity. Whether you’re serving in a remote village or an urban center overseas, knowing that a trained and responsive team has your back provides invaluable peace of mind.

Our Crisis Team exists for one primary reason: to protect and support our mission teams before, during, and after their trips. From emergency response to pre-trip guidance, this team is equipped to handle unexpected situations and help you focus on what really matters–spreading the Gospel.

To enhance our effectiveness, we’ve partnered with a professional security company that provides expert training to our staff. This means that when you contact BMA Global for trip preparation or support, you’re speaking to people who’ve been trained to respond quickly and wisely in case of a crisis.

This entire service is funded by BMA Global, which means it’s completely free to our churches and missionaries. Whether you’re organizing a short-term mission trip or preparing for long-term overseas service, we want to equip you with the resources and support you need.

Why Do We Need to Know Who’s Going?

We ask every missionary or church group to check in with our Crisis Team before traveling. Why? Because we want to:

  • Ensure you’ve received the proper safety training
  • Make sure you’re signed in with our response system
  • Know where you are in case you need emergency support

Knowing your location allows us to activate help quickly if unrest breaks out, natural disasters occur, or other unexpected emergencies arise.

Facts About Security on Mission Trips

  • Over 60% of missionaries surveyed by global sending agencies have experienced at least one safety incident abroad.
  • In high-risk regions, mission workers may be vulnerable to civil unrest, theft, or health emergencies.
  • Proper training can reduce the risk of harm by up to 80%, according to data from faith-based security organizations.
  • Travel preparation, including knowing local laws, emergency contacts, and situational awareness, can significantly improve outcomes in a crisis.
  • Partnering with a crisis team increases your likelihood of receiving timely and effective help when minutes matter most.

We’re Here to Help

In a world filled with uncertainty, from political instability to health risks, you don’t have to serve alone. BMA Global’s Crisis Team is standing by to support and protect those answering the call to go.
