Planting Hope and Proclaiming Christ in Athens, Georgia

At April’s National Meeting, BMA Global elected Aderemi Badru as one of our newest church planters, serving in Athens, Georgia.

For Aderemi and his family, this assignment is more than a ministry opportunity…it is a calling.

Aderemi is a graduate of the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria. Alongside his wife, Ittunu, he has committed his life to serving Christ and investing in people through local church ministry. Together, they are raising two sons, Elijah and Elisha, while faithfully following God’s leading into this next season of ministry.

At the heart of Aderemi’s calling is a clear conviction: to preach Christ Jesus as the Hope of Glory for all nations.

He and Ittunu believe God has commissioned them to rebuild broken lives and raise up the next generation through the Gospel. Their passion for church planting and evangelism extends beyond gathering crowds. They desire to develop disciples and equip young people who will carry the message of Jesus to the nations.

Together, they are planting House of Hope For All Nations.

Why Athens?

Athens is a unique and strategic city for Gospel ministry.

Home to the University of Georgia and a large student population, Athens attracts young adults, families, professionals, and people from many backgrounds and cultures. Known as a cultural and intellectual center, the city is constantly shaped by new ideas and new generations.

Yet alongside this opportunity comes a spiritual need.

While Athens is vibrant and growing, fewer than one in four residents are strongly engaged in Christian faith. That reality creates an opportunity for local churches to faithfully proclaim Christ, build authentic community, and make disciples.

House of Hope For All Nations exists to meet people where they are and invite them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

The vision is not simply to establish another gathering place, but to see lives transformed and communities impacted by the Gospel.

The Vision: REAL

House of Hope For All Nations is built around a simple but intentional vision:

R — Reach the Lost
Sharing the hope of Jesus with those who do not yet know Him.

E — Empower servant leaders who serve like Jesus
Developing disciples who lead through humility, faithfulness, and service.

A — Assimilate our community into the body of Christ through discipleship
Building relationships that move people from connection into spiritual growth.

L — Love each other and love our world as we serve in various ministries
Demonstrating the Gospel through tangible acts of care and compassion.

These commitments are supported by five core values:

  • Gospel Focused
  • Evangelism and Missions
  • Love and Hospitality
  • Prayer and Intercession
  • Excellence

Sent to Go

The Badru family is being sent by Pathway Baptist Church in Waxahachie, Texas, a reminder that church planting is never a solo effort.

Healthy churches send people.

Church planters go.

And God builds His Church.

As Aderemi, Ittunu, Elijah, and Elisha step into this work, they invite us to join them, not only in celebration, but in prayer.

How You Can Pray

Please pray with the Badru family for:

  • Open doors into the city of Athens and opportunities for ministry
  • Connections with people who will serve alongside the mission
  • Financial provision and practical resources
  • Strength, unity, and encouragement for their family
  • Protection and God’s hand over their ministry
  • Divine direction and the Holy Spirit’s leading as they secure a meeting place
  • Souls to be won to Christ, disciples to be made, and the light of Jesus to shine throughout Athens and beyond

The harvest is still plentiful.

Would you join us in praying that God uses House of Hope For All Nations to bring lasting Gospel impact in Athens for generations to come?
