Lives Transformed Through Lifeword’s Gospel Broadcasting

By Emily Brantley, Lifeword

Lifeword exists to help make disciples through the creative proclamation, production, and promotion of biblically sound media that communicates in the heart language of every tongue, tribe, and nation. That’s our mission statement! We produce gospel programming designed for radio, the internet, video, and digital print. With over 250 creative partners worldwide, Lifeword currently shares the gospel in over 160 languages. Lifeword is able to reach billions of people every day with the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

The Philippines is a country in southeast Asia where Lifeword has had a strong work for many, many years. In the Philippines, Lifeword has over 50 FM radio stations broadcasting in several of the 120 languages spoken in the Philippines. Like all of our regional coordinators, Bro. Pete Etabag, Lifeword’s Asia-Pacific Coordinator, frequently shares stories of how lives are transformed through Lifeword’s gospel broadcasting.

Recently, Bro. Pete shared with us a testimony of a man living on the island of Negros. This man is a husband and a father. He was a drunk and regularly mistreated his wife and children. His wife and children attended one of our BMA churches in the community. The wife had put her husband’s name in the prayer bulletin. When her husband found out about it, he was furious, but the church prayed that the Lord would save him and change his life.

Later, Lifeword helped the church to install an FM radio station. Along with installing the station, Lifeword provided transistor radios for the church to distribute among community members so they could listen to the broadcasts. This man’s children received one of the radios to take home and listened to it regularly. Soon, the children noticed that their father was listening to the church’s broadcasts, music, and gospel messages on his own. One day, the radio’s battery died and the father instructed his children to go to the church to request a new battery to continue listening.

The children never spoke to their father about it, but they soon noticed a change in him. He quit drinking and became much warmer toward them and his wife. He soon decided to start attending church with his family and was saved and baptized. He now serves in the church faithfully and shares his testimony with other lost souls in the community.

This is just one of hundreds of testimonies like this that we hear from our partners around the world. The Lord is transforming lives through the work and efforts of Lifeword. We are so thankful to Him for saving souls and for using us to be a small part in expanding His kingdom.

Would you join us in praying for our work around the world? Pray that more people would commit to supporting Lifeword financially so that more people can hear the story of Jesus.Lifeword Sunday is coming up on October 20th!
